Marc Jacobs knows about appropriation

Marc Jacobs has incorporated graffiti street artists in his store window displays. Previously seen through throw-ups on street corners, Mint&Serf, came together to become MIRF for Marc Jacobs.

No strangers to the advertising world Mint&Serf have been commissioned by Ace Hotel, Nike, Marc Jacobs, Red Bull, Ogilvy&Mathers, Adidas, Yahoo, Boost Mobile and PowerHouse Books.

In an added twist German photographer, Juergen Teller, was commissioned to produce Marc Jacobs' print adverts which also used MIRF's work. This is the same Juergen Teller who featured another graffiti artist's work in his print campaign. However, by all accounts Yes2 didn't get paid! May be because the work was illegal? May be because Teller didn't know the person behind the throw-up?
